Acceptance of Terms

These Terms govern your access to the VerifyCitation website and any citation-verification features made available through it. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

VerifyCitation is operated by TINGYI JIANG under the ResearcherKit brand.

Service Scope

VerifyCitation is designed to check existing academic references for source existence and consistency across fields such as DOI, title, authors, publication year, and venue. The service includes account access, one-time credit purchases, checkout, and purchase-history entry points.

VerifyCitation does not generate new citations and does not determine whether a paper supports a particular claim, is high quality, or is appropriate for your work.

Accounts and Payments

You must provide accurate account information and protect access to your account. The current offer is a one-time purchase of 20 credits, valid for 365 days, for USD $9 before any applicable tax shown at checkout. There is no subscription or automatic renewal.

Creem processes the payment as the merchant of record, issues the invoice, and calculates and collects applicable indirect taxes based on the checkout information. Before purchasing, you must also review the Creem Buyer Terms. The total amount payable, including any applicable tax, is shown at Creem checkout before payment.

Refund Policy

You may request a refund within 7 calendar days after purchase by emailing contact@researcherkit.com from the email associated with the order and including sufficient information to identify the purchase.

If any paid credits from the purchase have been used, the purchase is generally not eligible for a refund, except for duplicate charges, payment errors, failure to deliver the purchased credits, circumstances required by applicable law, or another case approved after manual review. We aim to respond within 3 business days. An approved refund is processed only through Creem, and credits associated with the refunded purchase may be removed manually. This policy does not limit rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and Creem may also issue refunds where required by law or its payment obligations.

Verification Results

Automated results may be incomplete or incorrect because of database coverage, ambiguous references, older publications, and inconsistent third-party metadata. A status such as verified, partial match, or not found is evidence for review, not a guarantee. You remain responsible for checking original sources and meeting the academic, editorial, professional, or legal standards that apply to your work.

Acceptable Use

You may use the service only for lawful purposes. You must not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, submit malicious content, abuse external data providers, or use results to misrepresent the authenticity or quality of a source.

Submitted Content

You retain responsibility for reference text you submit. When verification features are enabled, you grant VerifyCitation the limited permission needed to process that text and return results. Do not submit content you do not have the right to process or information that is confidential or unnecessarily personal.

Intellectual Property

The VerifyCitation name, website content, visual design, and service software may be protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you. Rights in third-party publications, metadata, trademarks, and services remain with their respective owners.

External Services

Reference verification relies on CiteTrue, a third-party verification service with its own availability, coverage, credit rules, privacy policy, and terms. VerifyCitation does not control third-party availability or data and is not responsible for third-party content. One VerifyCitation credit maps to one CiteTrue API credit for the MVP; the interface shows the estimated maximum before a task and the actual charged cost after completion.

Disclaimer

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. VerifyCitation makes no guarantee that every reference will be found, that every match will be correct, or that the service will always be available.
